Auditing

The audit is a set of procedures, methods and techniques aimed to confirm the facts presented, during the operation and maintenance of dams, tanks and waste disposal. It covers all operational areas and is linked to the highest level of organization. The audits are necessary to meet the environmental agency and now the National Policy on Dam Safety, which entered into force in 2010.

Every audit is preceded by a planning. Thus, the auditor must have detailed knowledge about the operation of dam and waste disposal to be analyzed, and it should relate to the nature, the opportunity and extent of tests / procedures to be done. The planning will be done to meet the guidelines and expectations for the job.

Structures that need to be audited:

All structures of dams and waste disposal should be audited according to the classification in Normative Deliberations COPAM 62/2002 and 87/2005.

GEOESTAVEL has a contract with Vale and Samarco to perform external audits on several dams and waste disposal and uses both international and national recognized staff and renowned expert in this activity.
